Does your office accept walk-in patients?
We offer walk-in hours for new injuries at our Cedar Knolls location: Monday — Thursday, 5 pm — 8 pm*. and Saturday, 10 am — 2 pm*. *after hour charges will apply.
Do you accept my healthcare plan?
Consensus participates with most major insurance plans. As participation varies by region, specialty and physician, we recommend that you contact either our office or your insurance company representative to verify that your insurance plan is accepted. This varies from one insurance plan to another.
Do I need to obtain a referral prior to making an appointment?
Please check with your insurance company to determine whether a referral is required.
How do we contact the doctor after hours?
Our medical providers are available 24 hours a day. Call our main office at (973) 538-7700 and follow the prompts to page a provider on call. Please be aware that after-hours are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day. Pages are typically returned within 20 minutes. Please call back if you have not received a timely response.

May I request a specific physician for my visit?
Yes, please advise the receptionist which physician you’d like to see. For continuity of care purpose we try to keep follow up visits with the same physician (or Physician Assisant) for the same injury or condition.
When will I receive lab or test results?
It is your responsibility to notify us that the test that was ordered was performed and when/where it was performed to obtain your results. When calling to notify our office of a test performed, please press option “7”.
How do I obtain a prescription refill?
Please call our office and follow the prompts for our prescription refill line. Allow one business day for all routine prescription refills. For prescriptions that require prior authorization from your insurance company, please plan to allow at least three to five days for refill approval. Prescription refills for controlled substances such as pain medications are refilled Monday through Friday only.
How do I obtain a gym note or therapy renewal prescriptions?
Please call our office and leave a message for our nurses and medical assistants. If you are overdue for an appointment your request may not be filled until after a follow up visit.
